WhatsApp is developing a screen lock feature for the Desktop beta.
Following the release of the ability to forward media with a caption on WhatsApp Desktop beta, WhatsApp is now working on a new feature that will allow you to protect the desktop app by setting up a password for a future software update!
WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS debuted a screen lock feature three years ago: thanks to this feature, users may finally have an additional security measure by shielding the program from illegal access when they are not using their device. This feature is not available on the web/desktop client, but WhatsApp is finally working on a solution by adding the screen lock option to a forthcoming WhatsApp Desktop beta update:
A password is required every time the user runs the application, which is beneficial if you share your computer with others. It should be noted that enabling this function is optional. Furthermore, the password is never shared with WhatsApp; it is always maintained locally. If you forget your password, you must log out of the app and re-enter it by scanning the QR code with your mobile.
Because this feature is still in development, some elements of the interface may be missing in this screenshot.
The ability to protect WhatsApp Desktop by using the screen lock feature is in the works and will be included in a future app update.
