On the Windows beta, WhatsApp is releasing a feature that lets you message yourself

After allowing certain users to exchange contact cards in the last beta edition of WhatsApp for Windows, WhatsApp is now rolling out a feature that allows users to keep messages in the conversation with their phone number!

WhatsApp also published some information about this feature on Twitter last week: when they discuss a feature provided to beta testers on Twitter, it typically signifies that the function has recently been put out on stable versions of the program. WhatsApp is making this functionality available to users who have downloaded the newest WhatsApp beta for Windows 2.2248.2.0 update from the Microsoft Store:

WhatsApp included an icon within the cell that symbolizes your personal conversation in previous releases of the Windows native beta client, but it was not able to open it. After a server-side update, it is now possible to open the chat with your phone number: this feature is especially important on Windows because personal chat has always been hidden due to incompatibility issues with multi-device, so WhatsApp is releasing a full feature rather than a simple entry point.

When you submit a message to the chat using your phone number, the message is transmitted to all of your associated devices, ensuring that they are always available. Furthermore, your communications transmitted to this chat are end-to-end encrypted, so only you can view them across your associated devices.
The option to send messages to oneself has been made accessible to certain beta testers after installing the WhatsApp beta for Windows 2.2248.2.0 update, which is available on the Microsoft Store, and it will be made available to more users in the coming days.
