Android and iOS users will soon be able to use avatars on WhatsApp

Following the announcement of the expansion of WhatsApp Communities, WhatsApp is now rolling out another feature to users who install the current version of WhatsApp for iOS and Android: the opportunity to create an avatar!

Some lucky beta users received the option to create an avatar after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.23.9 update from the Play Store and the WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.23.0.71 version via the TestFlight app in October. WhatsApp began rolling out this functionality to select users on stable versions of the app last week, and it is now available to everyone!

Avatars allow you to express yourself by generating a digital expression from WhatsApp Settings. After you customize an avatar, WhatsApp will produce a new sticker pack that symbolizes you, allowing you to begin sharing your own avatar sticker with your contacts. You may also use your avatar as your profile picture. You may change your avatar at any moment by going back to WhatsApp Settings, and as usual, avatar messages are end-to-end encrypted so that no one can view the content of your message.

WhatsApp announced the rollout of avatars in a blog post, and it also stated that it would develop this feature over time by offering many design updates.
The option to create an avatar has been made available to WhatsApp users on Android and iOS, and it will be made available to everyone in the coming days.
