You may have received a Facebook notification requesting you to include hashtags in your post. Facebook first introduced hashtags in 2013 and then revamped the platform in 2016. Furthermore, hashtags did not appear to catch on or do anything to boost your Facebook reach. Until now, if we can improve organic reach even a little, I recommend that we use hashtags actively on Facebook!!

Like Instagram, you can simply find out what hashtags are trending on Facebook by putting them into the search bar on either desktop or mobile applications. Furthermore, on the main Facebook mobile app, simply begin entering your chosen hashtags and Facebook will provide further recommendations. So far, here’s everything you need to know about utilizing hashtags on Facebook:

  • Create your own hashtag sets to use in various postings for distinct objectives, like Instagram.
  • When you use Meta’s Creator Studio (or Business Suite), you’ll have the option to click the ‘#’ sign, which takes you to Facebook’s hashtag search, save, and add page. When you type the # symbol, the beginning of a hashtag is instantly filled in with recommended tags. The number of postings that feature that hashtag will be shown to give you an idea of its popularity.
  • If you haven’t already, you can connect your Instagram account to Facebook, and your Instagram hashtags now and have a greater influence on Facebook.
  • Use a combination of hashtags with millions of views, hashtags with 100,000 views, and hashtags with extremely specific audiences.
  • Work on developing your own unique hashtag to use on all of your postings.
  • Facebook launched a variety of tools in May 2020 to assist small companies affected by the COVID-19 situation. Screenshot of the Facebook hashtag promotion #SupportSmallBusiness.
  • When you start typing a hashtag under Facebook’s new look, it immediately offers hashtags to you. The same as on Instagram.
  • Examine your most popular Facebook posts and add hashtags to them. Leave a comment and see if your friends/fans can do the same. This activates Facebook’s “Story Bump” algorithm, which was implemented on August 6th, 2013, and may assist more people quickly discovering your material, particularly video postings.
  • The character limit for Facebook posts is a whopping 63,206, however, it is usually recommended to include 3-5 key hashtags. Then you may go up to 15 if you like. You can have more if you really want it. Experiment to see what works for you.
