Instagram is testing new DM labels to aid with the management of customer interactions on the app.

Instagram is working on a new set of message labels for business accounts, which will make it simpler to monitor customer interactions in your DMs.
Instagram is planning to introduce five additional categories for your IG Direct messages, as seen in this sample uploaded by Sachin Shah, to help companies better manage their interactions in the service.

The five labels are:

Flag

Booked

Ordered

Paid

Shipped

This might be especially beneficial for SMBs without access to more complicated CRM capabilities since it provides a simple method to remain on top of crucial interactions for your business.
The new labels would complement Instagram’s current business DM features, such as welcome greetings and stored answers. Businesses on Facebook may also add comparable labels to their discussions, however, their application differs differently from that of these more particular tags.
With over a billion people messaging businesses every week across Meta’s apps, and Meta looking to provide more ways to maximize connection and opportunity through its platforms, it makes sense for IG to lean into these behaviors where it can, and provide more tools to facilitate commerce and business engagement.
