Meta is experimenting with a new ‘Roll Call’ feature for Messenger.

Meta, formerly known as Facebook, is reportedly testing a new “Roll Call” feature for its Messenger app. The feature is said to be similar to BeReal, a French photo-sharing platform. Roll Call, according to reports, invites users to add photos or videos to a prompt that allows them to share what they are currently up to. Only those who have been added to the Roll Call can see the responses of others.

The new feature is said to introduce a random front and back camera photo to social media every day in an attempt to restore authenticity. It should be noted, however, that Roll Call is still an internal prototype, and it is unclear when or if Meta intends to make the feature available to app users.
According to TechCrunch, the finished product may differ from the current test product. It remains to be seen whether Roll Call will be a successful addition to the Messenger app, but it may provide users with a new and enjoyable way to share their daily activities with friends and family.
