Many customers have reported in recent weeks about an issue with push notifications when using the stable version of WhatsApp Desktop. WhatsApp published a bug repair update to everyone yesterday that fixes this issue on the desktop app.
Many customers were having problems using WhatsApp Desktop, as they were unable to get push notifications from the desktop version. Even a quick search on Twitter indicates that some users were unable to get push notifications and were searching for information and a solution:
WhatsApp officially deployed a patch in the WhatsApp Desktop beta 2.2219.2 update a while ago, thus beta testers have been receiving alerts since this issue was fully resolved. Still, it appears that the same patch will be included in the stable release with build number 2.2218.8. If you are having the same problem, please open WhatsApp Desktop and upgrade to the most recent version available. If push notifications still do not appear while using the newest update for any other reason, you might consider moving to the beta version, where the problem has been resolved. Nobody has reported any serious flaws in the beta version since its release, thus it is safe to install.
