Meta has launched its new Meta Verified program in the US, allowing users to purchase a blue checkmark on Facebook or Instagram for a monthly fee. The program requires users to provide photo ID to prove their identity, and once approved, provides a verification tick, proactive account protection, dedicated account support, and exclusive stickers for Stories and Reels. However, Meta has put a pause on increased reach for Meta Verified profiles. While the program brings in extra cash for Meta, the dilution of the value of the blue tick may make it less valuable over time.
