WhatsApp has released a new beta update for Android, bringing the version up to 2.23.8.3. One of the new features being tested is the ability to “Keep” disappearing messages, allowing users to prevent them from vanishing after the designated period. With the Keep feature, anyone in the chat can save a disappearing message by selecting the bookmark icon.
This new feature can be particularly useful when chat participants need to refer back to a message later. However, users are still in control of their disappearing messages, and if they want to make a message disappear again, they can choose the “unkeep” icon. Once a message has been unkept, nobody can use the “keep” action on it anymore.
The ability to keep disappearing messages is currently only available for some beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta version for Android from the Play Store. However, it is expected to roll out to more users over the coming weeks. This feature is just one of the many updates being introduced by WhatsApp to improve the user experience and provide more options for secure and private communication.
