WhatsApp introduces new status update functionality for iOS and Android.

WhatsApp has today unveiled a new set of status update features that will be accessible to users on both iOS and Android smartphones in the coming weeks. The message also emphasizes their ongoing commitment to enhancing the user experience for status updates and other features.

WhatsApp issued a new blog post today to highlight new status update features. Some of these features are not new, but they have been included in the list of recent status update changes to demonstrate their dedication to improving the user experience. WhatsApp also ensured in the article that all of these capabilities are secure, with the same end-to-end encryption as chats and calls, allowing users to share their updates quietly and securely with only the people they want.

Users can rapidly select who sees their status updates using the Private Audience Selector. This feature enhances the app’s customization by allowing users to decide who sees their changes while sharing them.

Voice Status: With this capability, you can effortlessly share voice remarks on status for up to 30 seconds.

Status Reactions: Respond to status updates by selecting an emoji from the following categories: Smiling Face With Heart-Eyes, Face with Tears of Joy, Face with Open Mouth, Crying Face, Folded Hands, Clapping Hands, Party Popper, and Hundred Points.

Status Profile Rings for New Updates: With this feature, you can immediately see if there is a status update right from the chat list.

Link Previews on Status: When sharing a link as a text status update, you can share rich link previews.

If you don’t have one or more of the features on this list, simply wait for a future update when they are made available to even more people.
