WhatsApp is working on document upgrades after unveiling a feature that allows individuals to send documents up to 2GB in size. The startup, in particular, intends to allow users to add a caption to documents before sharing them:

the feature is currently under development on WhatsApp Desktop beta. When sharing a document, it will be possible to add a caption, so it is also easier to find a certain document if you remember its caption. The interface is the same as the one we see when sharing media, so there is a text field where the user can enter the caption.

Unfortunately, this feature is under development so we don’t know the details about when it will be released to beta testers. An article will be published on this website when further details are available.
