WhatsApp has unveiled a new native desktop app for Windows, offering faster loading speeds and improved communication features. The app supports group video calls with up to 8 people and audio calls with up to 32 people, with plans to increase these limits in the future. The interface is designed to resemble the mobile version of the app, making it easier for users to navigate.
In addition, the desktop app offers fully end-to-end encrypted messaging, media, and calls across devices, ensuring that all personal information remains secure. With the introduction of multi-device capabilities, WhatsApp has made it easier to link and sync devices, while also adding new features like link previews and stickers.
The launch of this new desktop app follows WhatsApp’s recent beta version for Android tablets and the native app for Mac desktops built using Mac Catalyst. With plans to expand its service to more devices in the future, WhatsApp continues to prioritize user convenience and security. The app is available for download from the Microsoft Store.
