Twitter’s Community Notes feature has been updated yet again, this time to notify users when a tweet they previously engaged with has a new note attached to it. By allowing people to reassess their initial response and stay updated on important clarifications and amendments provided by the Notes community, the feature helps dispel misinformation and false reports.
Elon Musk’s ‘Twitter 2.0’ reformation plan includes Community Notes, which allows the Twitter community to provide updates and feedback on tweets, allowing users to moderate their own content. Tweets will be able to better aligned with general user expectations rather than Twitter’s management perspective as a result of this. While allowing the community to moderate itself has some inherent risks and flaws, it is a useful supplementary moderation element. As Twitter expands Community Notes to more regions, it remains to be seen how much Musk sees it as a means to an end
